The International Children’s Film Festival of Cyprus (ICFFCY) is a registered NGO based in Nicosia that aims to provide children with the opportunity to incorporate cinema and digital media as a tool for learning as well as expressing themselves.

By offering screenings, events and workshops that complement their in-school curriculum, ICFFCY fosters critical thinking skills towards the media in addition to introducing a new dimension of learning to the classroom experience.

For the past seven years the organization has hosted an annual film festival, which takes place throughout the island. In 2007 it launched Cine-Caramel, a film club for youth, which seeks to extend the festival’s mission with year round projections and activities. Currently in development are plans for a Media Centre, which will serve as a public resource for youth as well as teachers to access film and media, past curriculum as well as books and other relevant resources.
