ICFFCY 2007

For the fourth year running the ICFFCY is pleased to organizie another film festival for the children of the Island.

This film festival is the only one of its kind on the island to combine movies with education. Children from all communities in Cyprus attend the cinema with their school and carry this experience into the school curriculum. The films selected are from the rich wealth of international films using educational criteria, which will enable the children to become citizens in today’s global world. Through its work the ICFFCY aims to stimulate children’s thinking, observation skills, research capacity and overall creativity.

This year for the first time the festival will offer morning screenings in Limassol at the Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation parallel to the usual morning screenings at the Pantheon, Nicosia. Morning screenings for schools will begin on Monday November 12th until Monday November 19th. Children will attend the screenings with their teachers in age groups.

Awards

Because the festival has not reached the competition level yet, this year ICFFCY will select a group of children, who will be acting as a Jury. They will be watching a list of selected movies presented during the morning screenings, the marathon and the evening screenings. The movie they choose as best will receive a distinction.
